Brand New Start Of It

It didn't wait for me to make it happen
all the lights, and flicker of neon,
to make it go away, I can't say no
but will not say yes, maybe
I wasn't sure of where it all began
but facing revolution, revolt
a pestering, festering, persona non grata
of an ego falling flat, then rising,
then falling again, broken record syndrome
of shock value and pain,
but sensing the eyes in the darkness,
I can't wait to shine.
